U.S. Representative Anna Eshoo Endorses Joe Simitian for Congress
Palo Alto, CA — Congresswoman Anna Eshoo today endorsed County Supervisor Joe Simitian to succeed her in representing the people of California’s 16th Congressional District.
Eshoo’s endorsement is a significant plus for Simitian, especially in a crowded field. This is one of the most powerful endorsements in the race.
Eshoo, who has represented the district for three decades and knows what it takes to be successful in Congress, said:

Eshoo announced her retirement in November 2023. Simitian entered the race strongly positioned, having represented 14 of the 15 cities and towns in the 16th Congressional District (and 85% of the voters in CD-16). He launched his campaign with the support of more than 150 locally-elected officials throughout the district. Simitian began the campaign with significant cash on hand, and an edge in early polls.
Simitian is uniquely positioned to advocate for the people of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties. Its federal facilities are essential to our national security. Its awesome open spaces and coastal lands draw world travelers, and it is the home of nationally recognized healthcare facilities. It is one of the most diverse and dynamic districts in the country.
This special place calls for and deserves a top notch representative in Congress who can best mirror its values, advance the hopes and aspirations of its people, honor our
